1. What is included in the course fee?

The price for the Beginner Angler's course is $100 per pax, which includes a two-way ferry ticket to Lazarus island, Beginner Angler's course handbook, Beginner Angler's fishing starter kit, bait for fishing, ice for keeping fish, MFFA certificate upon completion of course, and entitlement to purchase beginner fishing combo set at highly subsidised price. All fishing equipment and accessories are also provided to all students of the fishing academy. (The rods and reels are sponsored by world leading fishing brand, Shimano.)

Minimum 6 students are required for the course to be conducted. Groups and individuals will be combined to form a class.

2. I have zero experience, is Beginner Angler suitable for me?

The Beginner Angler program is suitable for all ages, from young kids to the elderly, for couples, families and friends that are looking to have a different and unique adventure, with or without any prior experience.
You will learn both the basic theory and practical aspects of fishing during the getaway. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to use a fishing setup confidently and know how to handle a fish that is caught.

3. What happens if it rains?

There is a giant pavilion for shelter on the island. Please bring along raincoat as the course shall continue when there is light rain and for your own safety, it shall solely be the discretion of the instructor(s) to make adjustments to the course itinerary when extreme weather conditions occur.

The course will only be cancelled upon notification from MFFA. If the trip is cancelled by MFFA, full refund will be credited back to the credit card that you used for payment.

4. What if I get sea sick?

The ferry ride will only take a maximum 30 minutes. Usually, you will not get sea sick within this duration on a ferry, but if you are prone to seasickness, we recommend that you take sea sick pills 30 minutes before boarding the ferry.

5. Is there an age requirement? Will the price be the same for children?

All ages from 5 years old and above.
(5-12 year olds must be accompanied by at least an adult who is taking the course.)

The price remains at $100/pax for all participants, regardless of age.

6. Can an adult follow but not attend the course?

All participants have to pay for the course including accompanying adult.

7. Is food provided during the course?

The Beginner Angler's Course runs from 9:00am - 5:00pm and lunch is not provided. Please pack and bring sufficient food to ensure that it lasts you throughout the day.

8. What are the cancellation charges?

Any change in date or destination is considered as cancellation.
Less than or 3 days prior to trip - No refund
Less than or 7 days prior to trip - 50% refund
More than 7 days prior to trip - Full refund with 10% cancellation fee
